...and we're back! Apologies to my readers for the hiatus, life started to get in the way of making the strip - new job, new house, various other things. I am working to take this seriously and realize that inconsistent updates is a sure way to lose fans. I do find it amusing that the break happened where it did, rather fitting that both Jackson and I got hit with a block, but hopefully that's the last one.

In the novel, Jackson is super frustrated with being essentially locked in the room with just the cover stones and reference manuals - Kowalski gives him meals but no additional information about where the coverstones were found or any other surrounding information that Jackson thinks might give context for the strange writing. One night, he goes to refill his coffee pot and just when he's out of sight of the guard, he dashes down the hall to O'Neil's office. Jackson tries using the computer, but it's a star map on the wall that catches his eye, and he steals it and heads back to the lab, leaving the coffee pot on O'Neil's desk... (not that it is ever referred to again).

As for the movie - I was planning on showing the shot of Jackson holding the newspaper against Orion, but upon review - the Orion comparison glyph is different than the Orion glyph as can be seen in the sidebar, meaning they changed the coverstone glyph midscene! I can only suppose the production team wanted Orion to be more obvious.
